The roses at Bee Cottage are about to explode, and the climbing hydrangea finally bloomed… Everything is a little later this year due to the long, cool spring.

Stripes again in a chic bedroom of the Villa Tavernaccia, outside Florence. So much to love about this room. The way the walls are painted, the #blueandwhite stripied bedapreads, the #crisplinens and small pillows, the #redandwhite striped boxspring upholstery, and the red and white striped curtains. And dare i say the color scheme reminds me of the guest room and bath at Bee Cottage. Also just love the good fashioned twin beds, like my friend @janiemolsterdesigns. #blueandwhitestripes #redandwhitestripes #guestroom #twinbeds #wallpainting #villatavernaccia #tuscanstyle #tuscanchic #stripes

Cotswolds Diary, Day 4(th of July!)

As I settle in – and am not yet quite – I did want not to miss a return to Hidcote, and my friend Jonathan (MFJ) wanted to go, too. As a side note, happy to report that in driving there (he offered but I wanted to practice) I only hit the curb once, though… Continue reading Cotswolds Diary, Day 4(th of July!)

Can a Mid-Life Conundrum Inspire a Creative Second Wind?

Well why the heck not? It did for me and it can for you too. Just let it. This is an essay I wrote recently for Veranda Magazine, in their special California issue, January/February 2021. Reprinted here with permission, and revised to make sense, since it is me we’re (I’m) talking about and on my website. … Continue reading Can a Mid-Life Conundrum Inspire a Creative Second Wind?
