This is sort of a corny postcard view but is so pretty right now with the bright green new growth. I keep meaning to paint this again. Did a watercolor years ago. Time for an oil. One of the hardest things some of us can do – or in my case can’t do – is to ask a friend for help. I’ve tried to learn to do that – baby steps mind you – in these last few months, and i have experienced the divine grace in it. It doesn’t have to be a frantic text, it doesn’t have to be a woman – great or otherwise – and I certainly don’t consider myself a “great woman.” But I am a lucky one, and I know I am loved. Thank you. You know who you are.

A beautiful doorway in 66th Street, Manhattan. One of the advantages of a walking city is appreciating what beauty there is always around us when we can take the time to see. We also of course see sadness and squalor. It’s all part of our shared human experience, isn’t it, the good with the bad, the happy the sad, the cycle, every day a death and a resurrection, and the gift of grace in each moment. Not sure what has me waxing philosophical this Sunday morning! Walking allows us the contemplation that whizzing by does not, and I’m seeing that the Camino my friends and I completed a few weeks ago, is always beginning again. @hollyejacobs @duvallfuqua @ccwilliamsonsr @mollyfroelich @maureenchilton @lesliegraves26 @mossmandanielle @aishashaque @patriciaglass1 @staceyrenker And all my Camino sisters and brother (!) @randallday and inspired by @walk2connect

Would you believe we got all the way to Santiago and the Cathedral was closed?! Under renovation and supposed to reopen May 1. Nope. The pilgrims mass was held instead at the equally beautiful church of St Francis, founded by St F himself, so not exactly a letdown—just different and just as marvelous. .

Seeing @jasperconran ‘s gorgeous tree peonies this morning reminded me of these beauties we saw yesterday in Estella. I think it was Estella… .
