What a glory to be among the first to see the newly restored fresco of Ghirlandaio’s Last Supper, painted 1476. #Ghirlandaio was the teacher of #Michelangelo. The fresco, restored by #friendsofflorence, is part of the church of Badia a Passignano, where also is found the Antinori winery. #lastsupper #badiaapassignano

Look at the silhouette and tufting of this sofa. The Italians do have it going on. Seen at Villa San Michele, outside Florence. Go for drinks but not for dinner, btw, until the kitchen has a renaissance… #sofa #italianstyle

One more, sans scaffolding and tourists (except us 😉 David was meant to be one of many decorating the roof of a church, but was soon deemed too “magnifico” and so stood in its 18’+ foot-tall glory outside the city hall for 300 years before the Accademia was built to accommodate it. #thedavid #michaelangelo #accademia #florence #firenze #ilgigantico

The David, on a Monday, without the crowds; lucky us. They are vacuuming him today, hence the scaffolding. #david #michaelangelo #accademia
