It has been an especially pretty spring, don’t you think? Starting early as it did and carrying on. If we have many more 87-degree days in New York like we had yesterday it will begin to fade, but meanwhile so much beauty to celebrate…like pretty shoes…
Not to talk about money, but when did shoes start costing $700? And why? This to me is one of the (many) unfathomable mysteries of fashion. So imagine my delight in coming across these flowery beauties from Nine West for $79. I’m going to wear them with everything, including my pink bathrobe.
This arrangement of peonies and other posies was lavished on the powder room (how elegant is that) of my stylish friend Caroline Finnerty at a party she gave Christmas night. It is so pretty I made it the screen saver on my phone. By up and coming Atlanta floral designer Gina Humphries, the combination of pink, coral and red is just gorgeous.
Taffin jewelry designer James de Givenchy‘s showroom is always a-bloom, though I don’t think he has anything for $79. Maybe a candle. No matter, it costs nothing to look. The wonderful James, by the way, is being honored tonight by the Horticultural Society of New York at the New York Flower Show dinner dance. Each table is decorated by a different designer and the results are extravagant and extraordinary. If you are in New York and in the neighborhood of 583 Park this afternoon, go by and have a peek. It’s open to the public from 3 to 5.
And the park is so beautiful right now…
Rain or shine, there is always inspiration on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman…
And how fun is this bright and happy child’s bedroom at Jonathan Adler in Atlanta?
And back to Bergdorf’s, one of the prettiest dresses I’ve ever seen, by Naeem Khan. It’s not $79 either, but I’d wear those shoes with it in a minute, wouldn’t you?
Except for Taffin jewels and Flower Show table, all photos by Frances Schultz.
Frances, this is my first day as a subscriber and it has already made this beautiful day that much better. I love the details of that perfect pink dress. It looks like it would go perfectly with the BG table setting. xx Angele
