Cannot believe it but I’m moving this week, after 12 years in 69th Street, in an apartment I thought I’d be in for two or three years max. That’s typical New York. You get here, you get busy, boom, and you never get around to moving. But now His Grace (aka my new-ish husband) has graced my life, and 14-C is not a bicycle built for two, if you know what I mean.
This is the door to my office/guest room/HG’s dressing room. It’s about 4 by 6 inches. You can imagine how that’s been working out. Even if HG is only here a few days at a time.
But so you don’t get bored while I’m gone, here is a fun camera app called Toon Camera my friend designer Dede Wood told me about. Isn’t it cool?
Okay so the movers are here wrapping and packing as I write, so I better skeedaddle so I don’t have a heart attack.
If I don’t get up from this desk Miguel is going to have a heart attack.
They are like locusts… It’s terrifying…
Let me be in denial a minute longer… More Toon Camera fun…
I call this one wonky – wavy – smoozy – woozy.
I mean you can make kind of a boring photo into something artsy.
OMG my table. It looks dead with its four legs sticking up in the air like that. Don’t worry, little table, we will get you out of that fix in no time.
This is the one they’d put in the Wall Street Journal, like those pixillated portraits they do of infamous business tycoons and the occasional farmer from North Dakota who invents something and becomes a business tycoon.
This one is great, like a pencil sketch. Very artistic.
Okay now I really do have to go… wait… that was my iced tea they just packed… Lord have mercy… Oh …
I’ll be back soon. Have fun with Toon. 🙂
Toon is so cool. Thank you for sharing this.
U had a view, lucky u!
Hi, Frances. I hope your move goes as smoothly as possible and you love your new home. In the meantime, I will be downloading that app and having fun!
xo,
Traci
Best wishes for a positive experience on your move. See you in Aspen this summer????? Jerry
Good luck and happy day with the move and new digs. My books keep me planted. Can’t conceive of parting with one and packing them would be a mammoth. When I die they go in my tomb..King Tut style.
xo and don’t fprget to let us see your new spot.
xo,
Lynn
YOU are so ARTY!!!
Wishing you happy trails.

Wowsy, Frances. The end of an era. How are you feeling about the move? I remember selling my apartment. It was bittersweet…and ultimately ended up being the sweetest move imaginable.
Best wishes!
xx
I’d love to see photos of the old apartment, and photos of the new apartment in progress. Love your books and your blog!
Good luck with everything finding it’s way to it’s new home. Your table will be dancing on all 4s before ya know it.
xox
Frances, thanks for sharing toon. If it were my moving day I would be walking in circles talking to myself. Good luck, breathe and I suppose embrace the change. I remember once returning to my house to supervise the moving of the piano to find those locusts had worked their “magic” and included the laundry basket strapped to the back of the truck..yes complete with dirty laundry! xo P
Good luck with the move and thanks for showing us Toon Camera–we are going to check it out!
Hope you will not be moving too far out of our neighborhood !
Good Luck with your move – you have the right attitude – it is exciting to move on – bigger and better!! Thanks for the Toon tip – brings me back to our day at Artisanal learning Instagram! Got one more really cool filter to try – Vintique. you’ll love it.

We are both moving this week. The longest April Fool’s week for me!
Do trust the “editing” is going well.
Bruce and I now feel we should move every 4 years just to simplfy!!
Boy Girl, YOU are moving UP!!!Toon is so cool, but,OMG do not even think about taking your own picture!!! UGHLY!!! Have you tried photofunia???
Hysterical! Hang in there, moving is like doing a “cleanse” for your life – take advantage and cleanse (ie. when in doublt – pitch it!) See you soon – we need ‘before” pics of your new space!!

Moving can be fun—at Frances’ house. You have such a talent for making the mundane fun. Hope all went well.
xo, Lissy
p.s. I have the same daybed.
I haven’t checked my mail in a few days and everything changes. Good luck with the move. I’ve done it a few times in my life & it’s always a challenge. If you need help lifting the tea I’m there.
Thank you dear Maureen. I am finally re-connected and about to think about getting back to some modicum of normal – but still a mess and chaos but all good. Thank you again so much! x Frances
